    1Couldn't get it to work
    By Unumnunum
I generally know what I'm doing with things like this and I was able to hook the device up to my home internet and reach the browser console quickly. I have a subscription to a SIP service and I can make calls through it with a softphone app on my PC. BUT I was not ever able to get this HT701 to register with the service. The browser app is atrocious, all you can hope to do is enter in your SIP account credentials amongst the dozens of unexplained other options and tell the thing to reboot. If it doesn't hook up to the SIP service you won't have a clue as to why.

I returned it and got a CiscoSPA112 for about the same price. Much simpler user interface and it registered on the first try, I can place and receive calls through it with no problem.

1Make sure you buy an unlocked one!
    By Amazon Customer
The HT701 is a good ATA. However, the unit that was shipped to me from Biddeal via amazon was not as described. The unit that was shipped was not an unlocked unit, but was locked to BasicTalk. I wanted to program the HT701 to work with my Asterisk PBX and since it was "locked" there was not password that works and it could not be reprogrammed. The fact that it was a BasicTalk version is nowhere advertised the in product description. I have returned it to amazon.

    4Good product. Worked well
    By gman
Good product. Worked well. The only thing is this device has very low ring voltage and ring current. Would light up the light on some of my analog phones and definitely won't ring any old style bell ringer phones. But other than that, it works great on a typical cordless home phone, and works great if you feel like cutting the cord from the phone company. Very easy to configure.
