    5Reliable budget RAM
    By Howling Coyote
Nice reliable RAM that's not too painful on the wallet. I upgraded my laptops with this RAM and oddly my Gateway just didn't like it at all. So I put it into my Toshiba, which gobbled it up happily and is running faster. I then took the RAM from the Toshiba and upgraded the Gateway a little...and that RAM it didn't seem to have an issue with. So, just be aware, some motherboards may not be happy with this RAM, even though it passes memcheck with flying colors.

If it fails, you may not have a bad stick, you may have a picky motherboard. Just saying.

    1Defective memory sticks
    By Sharon D.
When I installed the two 4GB memory sticks and started the computer, it failed during the boot process. I finally managed to get the computer to run a memory test on the new memory, but the screen came up garbled and with black patches, and the memory test failed by locking up after about 5 seconds, even though the setup page recognized that 8GB had been installed. I reinstalled the old memory and the computer booted normally and worked ok, albeit with the former 4GB instead of the new 8GB I tried to install. I called a local computer repair shop, and they agreed that the new memory was bad and should be returned. Fortunately, the Amazon return process was a breeze and the memory is on its way back for a full refund.

    1KEEP LOOKING, THIS IS JUNK!
    By Tinyt1553
ordered 2 of these at the same time, installed both (yes I verified that they were the correct specs needed for my system) at the same time. Windows blue screen of death "memory management error," on boot up. Removed both chips, put in old chips, booted normal. Tried removing old chips and just installing 1 of these, same issue. Swapped out with other one of these, same thing. 2 bad chips on same order. DO NOT BUY!
